James Gunn And Michael Rooker May Be Re-Teaming For Suicide Squad 2

James Gunn and Michael Rooker have already worked together once in the superhero realm through the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies. While Rookers time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is over, now that Gunn is also lending his talents to the DC Extended Universe, its looking like these two might get to reunite in Suicide Squad 2, a.k.a. The Suicide Squad.

According to The Wrap, Michael Rooker is currently in talks to play King Shark in Suicide Squad 2. Hes been a part of the officially-designated Task Force X in recent years, particularly during the New 52 era, and it was reported last week that hes one of the characters that will make up the team when it returns to the big screen.

Introduced in 1994s Superboy #0, King Shark, a.k.a. Nanaue, is said to be the son of the Shark God, and he flip-flops between being a straight-up super villain and a tragic anti-hero. His abilities include superhuman physical attributes across the board, breathing underwater, enhanced senses, a regenerative healing factor and, of course, razor-sharp teeth.

Outside of the comics, King Sharks most prominent appearance has been on The Flash, where he was originally a marine biologist named Shay Lamden who was transformed by the particle accelerator explosion on Earth-2. King Shark has also popped up in DC Super Hero Girls, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Batman: Assault on Arkham. He was originally supposed to appear in 2016s Suicide Squad, but he was eventually replaced by Killer Croc.

Joining Suicide Squad 2 would allow Michael Rooker to keep up his streak of acting in all the movies James Gunn has directed. Along with his time as Yondu, Rooker is also well-known for playing Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead, and his recent projects include appearing two episodes of True Detective and starring in the upcoming Fantasy Island movie from Blumhouse.

Although it was initially described as a total reboot, Suicide Squad 2 will still be tied to the previous Suicide Squad movie, as evidenced by the return of Margot Robbies Harley Quinn, Jai Courtneys Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis Amanda Waller. However, the better term for this movie is relaunch, as it will mostly feature a brand-new cast of characters.

Assuming Michael Rooker finalizes a deal for Suicide Squad 2, he would join Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian and Daniela Melchior as one of the new faces. Elba was originally supposed to replace Will Smith as Deadshot, but hell now play a new character, while Dastmalchian and Melchior have been tapped to play Polka-Dot Man and Ratcatcher, respectively. John Cena is also being eyed to portray Peacemaker.

A Major Marvel Theory Just Got Shot Down By The Avengers: Endgame Trailer

After months of radio silence and endless fan theories, the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame is finally here. The Russo Brothers' phase-ending blockbuster will reveal the fallout after Thanos' finger snap of death (known as "The Decimation"), and the trailer teases a dark and emotional story largely revolving around the original Avengers.

That first trailer provided a handful of long awaited answers, including the fate of Hawkeye and the movie's official title. Endgame's first footage also shut down some popular fan theories, including a time jump. Specifically, that years might have passed, with Tony Stark and Pepper Potts possibly having a child of their own. Now that's been shut down, as the first trailer revealed that Endgame takes place only shortly after The Decimation occurred, and half the galaxy perished.

This fan theory's demise is a bittersweet loss. While it ruins the those narrative possibilities of a world rebuilt after half the life on Earth perished, it makes Avengers: Endgame's story all the more exciting. Thanos' mass murder is fresh on the minds of the surviving characters, and moviegoers will be privy to the immediate ramifications of their loss to the Mad Titan.

The opening moments of the trailer show just how immediate the affects of Infinity War are being felt, especially for Tony Stark. It looks like Iron Man (and probably Nebula) is stranded in deep space, after failing to stop Thanos during the battle on Titan. While Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Drax, and Mantis faded to dust, Tony was left on the desolate planet with Nebula. And there's no tech on Earth that can rescue him.

The surviving Avengers on Earth were left counting their losses, of which there are many. Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner is seen taking it all in, as the faces of Spider-Man and Shuri were shown on screen. The remaining Avengers likely think that Iron Man also faded to dust, as they have no way of communicating with him in the far depths of space. Of course, Tony isn't the only presumed dusted character who will have a role to play in Avengers: Endgame.

Rumors about a possible time jump in Avengers: Endgame were at least partially empowered by the comments of Pepper Potts herself, Gwyneth Paltrow. The Oscar winning actress was quoted months ago talking about Pepper and Tony's long relationship, where she revealed they had a child. Obviously at least nine months would have needed to pass since we saw Pepper and Tony in Infinity War, although the trailer for Endgame now puts that statement into question.

The concept of time may end up being particularly relevant, as time travel has long been rumored for Avengers: Endgame. The key to that may be Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, who popped up in a delightful way in the final moments of the Endgame trailer. We'll have to see how his time in the Quantum Realm affected the comedic character.Avengers: Endgame will now arrive in theaters on April 26th. Why Star Wars Fans Think Snoke Might Be Coming Back

One of the most shocking things about Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the fate of Supreme Leader Snoke, but, while he may be dead that doesn't mean he's gone for good. Fans are now wondering is Snoke might be making some sort of return for Star Wars: Episode IX, as Andy Serkis, the man behind the motion capture, recently had to cancel an appearance at a local comic-con. It's possible the reason for the cancelation was that he was needed on set for Star Wars.

The recent Keystone Comic-Con in Pennsylvania just happened, and among its litany of guests was supposed to be Andy Serkis. However, at the last minute, Serkis backed out. It's not uncommon for a few guests at one of these sorts of events to be forced to cancel, but there's usually a specific reason for it, and quite often it's production responsibilities.

There's precedent for a comic-con cancelation being due to Star Wars, even recently. Billy Dee Williams had to do the same thing not that long ago, leading many to speculate that Lando Calrissian would be making a return in Star Wars: Episode IX. That speculation turned out to be accurate so it could be here as well.

Of course, there are numerous ways we could see Snoke again. The most obvious would be as part of a flashback. While many were disappointed that Snoke died in Star Wars: The Last Jedi without revealing to the audience his origins or motives, the fact is that Snoke doesn't need to be alive to for the next movie to give us this information. Kylo Ren could easily talk about his own history and reveal a lot about where Snoke came from. If this happens we could see a younger Snoke build the First Order as part of events that took place prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There's also the possibility that we could see Snoke appear as a Force Ghost. We've never seen a Dark Side Force user do that, but maybe it's possible.

Finally, there's a third option, which is that Andy Serkis could actually be playing an entirely different character in Star Wars: Episode IX. The actor was almost certainly put under contract for all three parts of the trilogy, but since Snoke's death doesn't appear to have been specifically planned before Rian Johnson wrote it, this makes Serkis available to do something else in the new movie. If there's a character in the film that requires motion capture, and you have the best in the game available, why not use him?

Of course, all this assumes that it was even Star Wars that pulled Andy Serkis away. Perhaps he needed to do some last minute work on Mowgli, his directorial effort on a live-action Jungle Book. It really could be anything, but it could very well be Star Wars.
