A Walking Dead Actress Wants To Play Batgirl

Though most of the DCEU's adventures through Gotham City have primarily focused on Ben Affleck's Batman, there are other members of The Bat Family on the way, as well. One of the most exciting of the bunch is Barbara Gordon, who is expected to appear in the Batgirl movie, as well as the Birds of Prey film. No definitive casting announcements have been made yet, but now The Walking Dead's Katelyn Nacon has taken to social media to pitch herself as the next live-action incarnation of Ms. Gordon. Check out her tweet, below.

As far as fitness goes, Katelyn Nacon arguably does seem like a strong contender for the role of Barbara Gordon in the Batgirl movie. She has the overall look of the Bat family heroine, showing a strong resemblance to many comic book and cartoon versions of Barbara over the years. Moreover, her performance as Enid on The Walking Dead has allowed her to showcase strength, intelligence, and resilience in ways that feel decidedly reminiscent of the Batgirl that DC fans have come to know and love over the years. Given the enthusiasm expressed in that tweet, it's clear that Nacon would be incredibly excited to receive such an opportunity.

What little information that we currently have about Batgirl seems to suggest that DC may have some big plans for the character. Some have theorized that the character will receive her introduction in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie directed by Cathy Yan, and that debut could see her spin off into her own solo film written by Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson. DC has not officially confirmed when we will actually see any of these films but given Katelyn Nacon's current status as a TV actress, introducing her as a member of an ensemble could stand as an easy way to test her with audiences, and then use Birds of Prey as a springboard to eventually give her a solo franchise of her very own.

If Katelyn Nacon were to find herself cast as Batgirl in the DCEU, she would also see herself in good company as far as her Walking Dead co-stars are concerned. Veterans of the AMC zombie series are no strangers to the world of DC films, as actors like Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan both appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne, respectively.

Though no official casting announcements have been made in the Batgirl corner of the DCEU, CinemaBlend will bring you more information related to the eventual debut of Barbara Gordon as new details related to the character are made available to us. Until then, mark the December 21, 2018 release of James Wan's Aquaman down on your moviegoing calendars and start gearing up for Arthur Curry's first solo adventure!

Toy Story 4 Super Bowl Trailer Puts Buzz Lightyear In A Tight Spot

Toy Story 4 Super Bowl Trailer Puts Buzz Lightyear In A Tight Spot

Back in November we got to see two weird first trailers for Toy Story 4 - the first introducing us to a spork named Forky (Tony Hale) who doesn't want to be a toy; and the second giving us our first glimpse at Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael-Key's characters, Bunny and Ducky. Now Disney has chosen to celebrate the Super Bowl for the third time tonight, following up new Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel spots with a brand new look at the next animated feature from the folks at Pixar:

There's a lot to talk about with this trailer, but to start at the start there is the re-introduction of Bo Peep - voiced by Annie Potts. While the character appeared in both Toy Story and Toy Story 2, she was absent in Toy Story 3, which led to plenty of fan speculation regarding her whereabouts. Her return was first teased a few years ago when it was said that she would have a significant part to play in Toy Story 4, and we got confirmation of her return late last month. Now we actually have some real footage, however, featuring her bantering with Tom Hanks' Woody at a carnival.

It's not entirely clear exactly what the main cast of Toy Story 4 is doing at said carnival, but one thing that's driven home is that Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) is in some real trouble. Apparently he has not only been captured by someone who works at the fair, but he has been put up as a top prize at one of the booths. This apparently doesn't sit quite right with the aforementioned Ducky and Bunny, who challenge his presence with some fuzzy abuse.

This is technically the third teaser for Toy Story 4, but it's not yet entirely clear how all of the pieces will fit together. The official synopsis teases that Forky will be playing a significant role in the film, with the other toys showing him the scale of the world via a road trip, but none of the trailers thus far has exactly been "traditional" - giving fans a clear sense of what the movie is going to be about - beyond the fact that it includes a character named Forky and has at least one sequence set in a carnival.

The marketing for Toy Story 4 has been a bit strange thus far, but the folks at Disney do have some time to promote it (not to mention plenty of features to which they can attach new teasers, including Captain Marvel, Dumbo, Penguins, Avengers: Endgame, and Aladdin. While we've yet to see a normal trailer for the 21st Pixar films, it is surely on the way in the next few weeks.

Following up on the ridiculous success of Brad Bird's Incredibles 2 last year - which became the most successful Pixar release ever - Toy Story 4 will be arriving in theaters everywhere on June 21st. We here at CinemaBlend couldn't be more excited to reunite with Woody and the gang, so stay tuned here on the site for more updates about the film.

New Solo: A Star Wars Story Clip Shows Han Meeting Woody Harrelsons Character For The First Time

New Solo: A Star Wars Story Clip Shows Han Meeting Woody Harrelsons Character For The First Time

The new Star Wars movie may be called Solo, but it actually follows an entire team of characters, and a brand new clip shows the title character meeting some of them for the first time. Woody Harrelson was a recent guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live and he brought with him a scene in which Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo comes across the characters played by Harrelson and Thandie Newton early in the film. The pair are casing a job when Solo figures out what they're up to, and tries to insert himself. Check it out.

The clip opens with Thandie Newton as Val and Woody Harrelson as Beckett who are checking something out just off-screen when they get approached by Han Solo. It looks like he has seen them previously, and they may have even spoken to each other, as the way Beckett addresses him, it sounds like Solo may have stuck his nose in their business earlier in this scene, but here, Han shows how much he knows, by pointing out the pair are not actually part of the Imperial army. He wants to join them, but their first instinct is to kill him, the only argument is over how.

Obviously, nobody breaks his neck here, so it would seem that he's able to provide something of value to them in helping them with their theft, which allows him to join there team. From there, one would guess he handles himself well enough that he is offered a spot on the big job that will be the core of the story.

From there, who knows? We know where Han Solo ends up eventually, there's an entire trilogy of movies that tell us that, but how he gets to that point is still largely a mystery. It's also possible that we won't even really get the entire story here, as Alden Ehrenreich recently confirmed this could be the first of more Han Solo movies to come, and based on the early ticket pre-sale numbers, there's a good chance that Solo: A Star Wars Story is going to be a huge box office hit, regardless of whether or not it's actually a good movie. Nobody has seen it yet so we're still waiting for the answer to that question.

Solo is the second Star Wars Story spinoff film following 2017's Rogue One. At this point, no other spinoff films have been officially announced. While many Star Wars projects are in the works,m including an entirely new trilogy from Rian Johnson, we don't know what Star Wars has in store for us next following Star Wars: Episode IX next year. With a year and a half to go until that final chapter, we'll just have Han Solo to keep us entertained until then.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (or simply Solo) is a 2018 American space-opera film based on the Star Wars character Han Solo. Directed by Ron Howard , produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures , it is the second Star Wars anthology film following Rogue One (2016).

Directed by Ron Howard. With Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover. During an adventure into the criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion.
