See What Wesley Snipes Blade Could Look Like In The MCU

Long before the advent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Blade franchise reigned as one of the few successful superhero movie series. Now, some have begun to wonder if Wesley Snipes could don the sunglasses and return to the half-vampire badass within the confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With that theory/rumor in mind, a new (and utterly badass) piece of fan art has just hit the web showing that possibility. Check it out, below!

Pretty awesome, right? That's what Wesley Snipes could look like if he returns to the Marvel world, and finds his version of Blade adapted into the MCU, and it's something that longtime fans of the character would likely love to see. From the blood to the eyes to the smirk, it's all classic Blade. If you are one of the many people who has wanted to see the sword-wielding badass make his way back to the big screen, then this should get you very intrigued.

Having said all of that, the possibility of Blade entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe would have to face some major hurdles if it ever wanted to become a reality. Chief among these concerns is the fact that a new film version of Blade (particularly one reminiscent of this bloody image) would likely need an R-rating to appease die-hard fans of the character. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never delved into R territory before (unless you count the harder-hitting Defenders content over on Netflix), so that could raise some issues with the process of bringing Blade to life in a way that makes sense and honors his legacy.

Of course, the biggest thing to wonder after seeing this image is whether or not we could see Blade enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, Wesley Snipes remarked on those rumors recently and said that he had met with the folks at Marvel Studios about the possibility. Snipes explained:

All the main execs [at Marvel] and my team, we've been discussing for the past two years. Everyone's enthusiastic about it, everybody gets it. But they got a business to run and they gotta square the things that they gotta figure out before they can get to it, I guess. In the meantime, we got a business to run and our own slate of things to do.

So while that does not guarantee anything, it shows that there's at least a fraction of a possibility that Blade could find himself enveloped into the greater MCU fold at some point.
